Squamous skin cancer

I just got my pathology report that the lesion cut out of my leg was a moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.  It infiltrates to the level of mid reticular dermis with clear margins.

I am 51 years old and never had a skin cancer before, but had my share of the sun as a child and teen.
I'm really freaking out. Does this have a good cure rate with just the surgical removal? Is this considered
to be caught early?  Can it spread?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Squamous cell carcinomas are graded according to their degree of differentiation and designated as well, moderately, or poorly differentiated. Moderately differentiated tumors fall somewhere in between and is treatable. Get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I went to MDA Tues. and saw a oncologist surgeon and dermatologist and I am happy to say that they were not concerned!  They said they would have cut out a larger margin, but it is healing since mid Feb. and his adivise was to leave it alone. I am so relieved! :)  Now, if I can stop freaking out about any odd new bump or growth....

I was told by my dermatologist that since the margins are clear that everything is good and cancer-free.  However, MDA is taking a second look
to make sure there was no microscopic vascular or nerves involved. I'm still waiting to hear back. It has almost been a month since I had this cut out. It is horrible having to wait a month for answers. It took the first lab forever to send over the slides.
