How long to change over to dysplastic?

I've previously had one severe dysplastic nevus located on my hip in an area I couldn't see while dressing.  Had surgery and am having check ups every 3 months.  Almost NO moles on my body.  Age 63 white female.

Today I noticed a small  tan (?) spot above my waist band almost middle of my back.  It's about half the size of a pencil eraser.  I attempted to take a photo and everything came out enlarged. Label on jeans is 2 cm high, just to let you know how enlarged this photo is.

I have a good number of the pasted on brown spots (old lady spots) but can 'feel' those.  I cannot feel this.  I also have four small Cherry Angioma on my back in that general vicinity but they are red where this looks tan or light brown.

QUESTION:  How fast does a spot go from nothing to severe dysplastic nevus?  My derm appointment is coming up and I have horrific hypchondria after 2 bouts of cancer (colon in 2009 with tiny spread to liver in early 2012).

Should I worry since I saw my dermatopatholigist 2 1/2 months ago and all was 'clear'?

Hello,
Since you have a history of dysplasia, hence this spot needs to be examined and biopsied. Also keep an eye on it. If you notice changes in its color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful. If it is malignant then the rate of progression of malignancy would depend on the type of skin cancer it is.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
