Is this normal from picking at a mole?

Okay. So I'm 16 and a few weeks ago I was taking the ACT and I have really bad anxiety so I started picking at this mole I've had for years (it didn't itch I just pick at acne and stuff like that when I get anxious) and I picked so much it bled a little and soon stopped. The scab fell off and everything felt normal. It didn't ooze or bleed or itch or hurt or anything like that. The only thing is now in the area I picked off there is a little different color, it's slightly lighter colored than the rest. The mole is around 3 to 4 mm in diameter and us pretty uniformly an oval shape with pretty defined edges.  The mole hasn't changed, grown, or had anything weird happen since then. In the past few days, I've really gone after it picking at it. I ended up picking off all but a tiny bit, the thing is after I damaged it the picked off part is like an open wound and the area around where ive been picking and rubbing is sort of flared uo and reddish like a zit thats been picked at for too long  Does this sound normal like self induced trauma to the mole, possibly infection? Or should I worry? Thanks!
