Weird toe nail

On my left big toe I have a deep groove that runs the whole length had it for years. I lost this nail from running once and another time from hand foot and mouth when it was going around my sons school. Ever since it’s been weird

Now I notice something that looks like a hangnail only pink at the spot where this grows from on the cuticle

Do either seem like skin cancer ? My doctor just quit no new doctor yet and I cannot stop but think it has to be something bad the growing with a fragile deep groove has been ongoing but the little sore skin at the cuticle is sorta new

That doesn't sound like skin cancer.  Google images of subungual melanoma.  It's usually dark brown and often looks like a streak.  It's not pink-ish.  What you're describing is more likely to be a result of nail trauma in the past.

Thanks. I did have injury a few times. Never had a what seems to be still alive skin hang nail. Thank you for the reply. Guess I just now have an ugly toe nail :-) thank you
