Hello,
This lump can be a mole, cyst or a benign skin growth. Get it examined from a dermatologist. You can also get a FNAB done. FNAB is aspiration of the material of the lump which is done by a fine gauge needle (22 or 25 gauge) and a syringe.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
I URGE YOU TO READ MY POSTS, 24TH TO 31ST JANUARY 2012, warney26, one of which I worked out how to add a pic. one post is called Is this really cancer and the other two are called squamous cell carcinoma and hutchinsons freckle
my llump was very similar and when I showed my doctor she told me was nothing. what did the centre look like before picking? was it like a bit of rough skin??? please see my pic which looks very similar.the centre of mine (in pic) looks like a pus head but it is a little blurred, it is actually a small bit of hard white skin that wont come off) Mine has just been diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma which is one of the most aggressive skin cancers. Please, dont do what I did for so long, I relied on my family doctor who said was nothing. Ironically it was just a friend that pushed me to see skin specialist. Also ironcially, while at the specialist, he did a full body check (which I would recommend strongly) while doing this it was discovered I also have a hutchinsons freckle on my upper bacl. Looked like a harmless FLAT freckle!!! but is malignant skin cancer -they come in a variety of shapes and forms so dont take the chance
sorry, secondry to my last reply, i just searched for my is this skin cancer post but it is in the dermatology forum (24th jan). Since then I was diagnosed so my last two posts are in this forum. both are called squamous cell carcinoma and hutchinsons (warney26) please read and compare my pic. I trusted my family doctor, huge error. as there are som many different types you need a specialist ok
I found this link on a website after the ddr told me was squamous cell. I guess I needed convincing as it was not what I thought a skin cancer would look like. as you will see from the pics, there is great variation. mine (and it seems yours) is almost identical to the very first pic on the upper left and also to the top row 4th from left. that is why I asked what yours looked like on the top before picking. Mine ( see my pic) has a rought white bit of skin like the ones in the link below. Hope these pics get you off for a skin check asap

I had a red spot under my breast that when touched felt like it burned. It also caused shooting pains in my breast. I went to see many doctors and all seemed to thing there was nothing to worry about. I kept asking to see someone because I did not think I should have pain for no reason. I was finally sent to a dermatologist. He sent me to a surgeon. He cut it out. While doing it I heard him tell his assistant to remove the long white string. So, there was something there. Not sure what it was or called. I go tomorrow to have the stitches removed, 5, Very curious about what it was and what it was called.
wow that sounds freaky!! wold love toknow what the string is. I had no pain at all in either of mine. The one on my back I had no idea was even there. The oune on my hand never hurt but I sometime had a tingling and itch on and off. I have already been told both were malignant but when they cut out they took xtra tissue from around both. They did tat to make sur there were still no more cells in good tissue, indicating further sprea. I go back Tuesday nxt week for hopeflly good news!
