Basal cell carcinoma is one of the slow spreading and a non melanoma cancer of the face. It starts in the top layer of the skin called the epidermis. It grows slowly and is painless. A new skin growth that bleeds easily or does not heal well may suggest basal cell carcinoma. Don’t worry and get the biopsy done from a dermatologist. Hopefully if it is a basal cell carcinoma, it should not have spread much, but exact staging can only be done after biopsy.
