Bed Time

I am a 59 year old male. I have always needed a good eight hours of sleep and still do, actually feel better with 9 hours. Like I said I have always been that way so nothing new. I have started working a new job working from 4am to 12:00pm. I really need to change my bed time I believe, is 7pm too early to get bed? I have always gone to bed on the early side so do mind going early.

I have just started new work hours this past week. I use to get to bed around 8:30pm. With getting up much earlier now was feeling tired and losing energy during the day. I am not a big TV watcher and do not have a TV in the bedroom, so do not watch TV in bed. We eat our evening meal around 4:30pm ( live with my parents still), they like their dinner early. They have suggested taking a warm bath around 6pm, and I do have a glass of milk after that and then just go off to bed. I have done this now for two days and will say it has helped me. I do have to have a full physical next week and will talk to the doctor about this.

Hello,
There is a sudden change in your sleep cycle. Hence you can go to bed early. Do not drink caffeinated beverages later than the afternoon (tea, coffee, soft drinks etc.) Do not go to bed hungry and you can have milk etc before going to bed. Adjust the environment in the room (lights, temperature, noise, etc.) and do not watch TV, read, eat, or worry in bed and avoid watching TV, reading books, and eating in your bed.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
