23 year old female - Ive had insomnia as long as i can remember, it goes hand and hand with my anxiety/depression which im trying to treat but also very non-responsive to meds.
Ive tried various sleep meds but the one i have found helpful is Seroquel. It gave me great sleep at 25mg for about a month until my body got used to it. Then I had to keep increasing, now im at 300mg!! I've started taking Cymbalta for my anxiety, but its made me SO ALERT, that its completely taken away the affect of the seroquel. Ive tried clonazpam, zopiclone, trazadone and some others with no lucky....
My question is, how do i stop my body from adapting to the seroquel?? should i stop taking it a few days of the week? At this rate im going to have to keep increasing it and the side effects to my body are crazy. I get tremors, BAD constipation, weight gain etc.
Anyway, without seroquel ive not able to sleep AT ALL, my entire life my insomnia has been very bad, its been like 6 nights of the week i wont sleep, last night ill sleep. My mind races a lot when i try to sleep, should i do a sleep study?? My doctor says if i treat my anxiety, it'll treat my insomnia BUT the anxiety meds make my sleep worse! :(
