Does central sleep apnea and alpha wave intrusion are related ?

Mi first central apnea dated from 2003. It was 1,00 AHI/hour. The Polysomnography (PSG) showed that i have alpha wave intrusion. The told me it was not an isue and i had to care for me weight, 93 kilo at that time.
In 2016 i had a lot of intention to fall a sleep while driving a car.
So a new polysomnography was perform, and i had now central sleep apnea at 20,7 AHI/hour and a mixed sleep disorder (not enough slow wave sleep) so i was order to a CPAP with pressure 9 cm/H2O.
My slow wave sleep is reduced in time from 2003 to 2016. In 2013 a had a phase 4 sleep, in 2016 not any more.
Does any one have had experience with central apnea and alpha wave intrusion that reduces the slow wave sleep in time ?
