Feeling Dizzy, Drunk or Drugged in my sleep

Has anyone else experienced their dream state feeling woozy, twisted, distorted, dizzied, drunken or drugged? It first occured about 6 months ago and as recently been happening at least 3 times a week. I go to bed just fine, yet in my dreams I feel so "drunk" that I wake up feeling "hungover". The first time it happened I woke up in sweats and on the verge of vomiting. It quickly went away but now the effects last for most of the next day. If the feelings of complete "drunkeness" weren't so real, I wouldn't give it any thought. But its to the point that I'm questioning myself.

I've had dreams where I felt like I'd been roofied, and I was super dizzy, crawling on the floor trying to get up and walk. I asked about it on a similar board years ago, and a doctor suggested that I might be pressing on a nerve while I'm sleeping. I am frustrated that I can't find it now, but I seem to remember it involving my temporomandibular joint and possibly my inner ear. I used to sleep on my side with one arm folded under my head/neck area so this made sense. I stopped sleeping like this and the dreams also stopped. Hope that helps!

So, your sleep position was the issue and cured you when you changed that?
Yes. I think my arm was pressing on a nerve or perhaps an artery or something in my neck, below my ear. It was happening often - a couple times a month, at least. Now I make sure not to have anything around my neck when I sleep, and I have not had it occur one time since changing that.
I have dreams like this nightly and it makes me not want to go to sleep because I don’t want to have the dream happen again. I read online that it could be feeling out of control of your life or you’re self conscious about something. Not sure if this is true but it’s just a thought.

I have had dreams where I was intoxicated by drugs, not alcohol, it's the nauseous feeling I am concerned about. I think it's time you see your doctor.
