How to take melatonin?

I suffer from DSPD (Delayed sleep phase disorder) for 20 years, depression and recently epileptic seizures always caused by sleep deprivation. The Neurologist recommends me to take Melatonin. Currently I take 0.5mg of clonazepam, Anafranil 75mg a day and Levetiracetam 500mg (1-0-1)
What kind of melatonin would be recommended in my case? Brand? Dose? thanks

Hello Bob, do not worry, thanks for answering. I have not found anything that says that they are withdrawing Melatonin from the market. I think its use is quite widespread and is recommended by many doctors. I am tired of relying on psychotropic drugs to get some sleep and I think that Melatonin could perhaps help me regulate sleep. The truth is that there are several types of Melatonin and I am somewhat clueless about how much dose and what type of Melatonin to take.
I hope someone can help me. Thank you!
I read a 2017 book on sleep disorder that said a 2014 study showed the effectiveness of melatonin to prevent jet lag and promote sedation to be very weak.
After more than a decade of sleeping issues, I was able to resolve my problems by meditating on something I like to do, only I require meditation on total details at any given point in time which is impossible when you are tired, but my rule is to start over after a mistake. It doesn't take very long of repeating the process a few times and getting nowhere each time, before I am asleep.
I am not trying to disagree with your neurologist especially since I don't have what you have been diagnosed with, just providing some background and some other ideas for this annoying problem.
I dreaded going to sleep for 10 years until I did some reading on the subject about 3 months ago, and now look forward to going to bed after I read the book and found some things that worked for me in addition to the meditation.
