Narcolepsy with cataplexy: a neurological sleep disorder & life ruiner

Hey people from Limbo Land :P I'm Summer and I'm 17 (18 in august! whoop!) and i struggled very hard for 9 years from... DUN DUN DUHHHH

NARCOLEPSY WITH CATAPLEXY. My specialist said i have the most intense case he has ever seen in such a young person, in his practice. he is like, 58 or something. so yeah. I have a really hard time with all of those meds I'm STILL WORKING ON ever since november of my official diagnosis in 2011. If anyone has NARCOLEPSY or thinks they do, I'm so freakin happy to help anyone I can :) cause i know how it feels to feel bi polar and schizophrenic and ocd and have so much anxiety and stress built up that i become paranoid that i would love to relieve at least just one person from all of that pain that I experience sometimes still, but through those years....

Understand your predicament. Along with your medications try to follow good sleep hygiene measures, they help to reduce the severity of your symptoms. Good sleep hygiene measures: going to bed at the same time, waking up at the same time, avoidance of alcohol, smoking and caffeinated beverages. Aim for optimum weight with exercises or long walks.

Hey  I'm Mandy i am 17 will be 18 in july and I suffer from the same thing but since age 4 it was scary but I finally got diagnosed last year with narcolepsy with cataplexy it was a releaf to finally find out what plagued me for so long I know where you are coming from. I was put on Ritalin for it but stopped taking it since I didn't like the side effects, so now I'm just living day after day with it and many of my friends at school support me others just make fun of me but I don't care. But you must feel relived to find out what you have!
