Scary shaking and talking while sleeping!

The other night i was sleeping next to my spouse, and all of a sudden his feet and hands started shaking uncontrollably. I didn't think of anything at first but it wouldn't quit. I eventually asked what was wrong and all he said was "everything is going so fast". He couldn't sit still, he was shaking, moving his legs around, and rolling everywhere. The only way we could get it to stop was if i wrapped my arms around him and held him for a while. As I was holding him I realized he fell asleep out of nowhere? That happened 3 times in the span of 30 minutes. I was terrified, I didn't know what was happening. After the third one was over i looked at him and he was sound asleep and still. I looked at him and asked if he was okay and didn't remember any of it. Can anybody help me out, i'm stuck.. It would be greatly appreciated.

It does sound like seizure. If it was more limb movement, I'd say PLMS but an EEG and or sleep study is warranted.

It sounds like a seizure but who knows.  He should see a doc for a full workup.
