Waking Up with Extreme Panic and Depressive Thoughts

For a year + now I have woken up literally everyday with extremely depressive thoughts and panic attacks to the point where I have literally jumped out of bed or ran around my apartment pulling my hair. It has become a battle to wake up every morning and ruins the rest of my day. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem or mitigate it. I am seeing both a psychiatrist and psychologist and have been on pain medicine for stomach issues for about 9 months now so I don't know if that has anything to do with it but I am titrating down. I was on 360mg a day after surgery and since titrated down to 40mg a day which I am very proud of but don't know if that has an effect. Any other things I can do to keep this from happening

Hello,

Understand your predicament. Disorders related to dreaming could occur with REM sleep behavior disorders. Here the person acts out the dreams. I would advise you to discuss your symptoms with your primary care physician who may then refer you to a sleep specialist for further evaluation. This is usually assessed by a set of questionnaires and an overnight sleep study and the therapy is based on the severity of the disorder. Warm regards.
