Why am I biting myself in my sleep?

Okay so I'm an 18 year old female. I still suck my thumb and recently I've been biting my thumb in my sleep. From what I know I've never done this before when I was younger. The bites sometimes leave blisters on my thumb or even small gashes and they sting for several days. Unfortunately my thumbsucking is a comfort mechanism soon have a hard time falling asleep without doing it. I don't know if it matters but I also have sleep apnea. Can anyone explain why I'm biting myself?

You need to follow-up with sleep medicine as this is a type of psych/sleep disorder called dissociative disorders. OSA does matter because 90% of those with OSA have some type of parasomnia. that means they need to adjust your pressure on your machine.

I was throwing food on the lawn and may or may not have been fully clothed. sleepwalking and doing stuff does happen and it is a kind of dissociative disorder. I actually moved out of the house and it resolved instantly.
