How long does Nicorette gum stay in the bloodstream?

I would assume since quitting smoking takes 72 hrs, it would be the same for the gum? Personally, I think the gum is just as dangerous as inhaling. I bought it and used it one time. Figured if I was gonna still get nicotine in my system, my as well smoke. Anyway, eventually stopped cold turkey and hung on to god and kathyjo and jade. Praise God, one day at a time. Never take another puff.
