lost friendships

Has anyne elsr lost friends after their stroke? Like they said how sorry they were for you but then you never heard from them again? Maybe they didn't know how to deal. I get that. It could be awkward for them.

It definitely happened to me. It really bothered me at first . But with God’s help. It doesn’t bother me anymore.  It definitely bothers my husband.

Here is my bit of unsolicited advice. People don't know. Some will go away because the depth of their friendship wasn't such on their end to weather a difficult time. But others just aren't sure what to do. Directness would so bridge the gap. Like, I'm still me. I know it is hard and you may worry or not know what I can handle. I'll TELL you but otherwise, it's me, just going through something. Then set up something with THEM. Tell them, You bring lunch over, I'll pay. (if you can) and then sit and chat. People just act weird when they aren't sure what to do.
