Chromosome 20

Well the genetic testing came back as having an extra chromosome 20. Has anyone had this and went on to have a healthy pregnancy? My re said there is only a 2% chance of a repeat.... What would you do? He said we can start trying again in February which seems sooo far away:(

Cutter1974 is right.  I had a miscarriage in December 2011.  I also had genetic testing which came back 47xx+20.  An extra 20th chromosome. I was 41 at the time.  I tried again and got pregnant 3 months after the d&c.  But also ended in MC.  I was 42.  Haven't gotten pregnant since.  I read on line that an extra 20 is very common in miscarriages.  But not necessarily common to get the same genetic abnormality again.  I say mos definitely keep trying!!!!!

My heart goes out to you. It is so hard when you lose a baby. It is good that you Atleast got an answer to what was wrong, but still hard to hear I am sure.
Hopefully your next pregnancy will be a healthy normal one.
I was told it was just a matter of getting the right egg.
