Mutiples IVFs

Hey everyone, I am new to the board.  Was just wondering anyone out there who has done mutiple IVFs and how soon did you embark on the next one after a failure?  I just got a chemical pregnancy on attempt no.4 and feeling pretty low.  I know it's tougher for us over 40, but as long as we have eggs, there is stlll some hope right?

Hi

Yes, I always have at least 3 perfect embryos each time, and 2 chemical pregnancies.  Have your doctor discussed implantation issues?  On my 3rd try, my dr. put me on baby aspirin and Innohep injections in addition to the progesterone.

Good luck to you too! I am not about to given up any time soon! LOL!  As longs as I have eggs, I will keep on trying.

I am 41 now. I am about to start my 3rd cycle after two bfp's this year. I got 14 eggs both times and had 4 embies put in on try 1 and 5 put in try 2. They looked great but do not take. Guess you just have to find the right ones. All my tests, numbers are great, so I will keep trying. I left one month between  my IVF's.   It is emotionally difficult but keep that goal in your mind and go for it. Once you let the air clear for a couple of weeks you will feel more certain about trying again.  In my mind I will instinctively know if it is time to throw in the towel, so trust your gut.  Good luck!!

Yep, that's what I am doing too except mr Dr. doesn't check my hormone levels...he just ask me to exercise (which I love to do) and get it all out....I do acupuncture to balance out all my hormones.

You are doing no. 5 too? I am doing mine in November, or maybe in October if he is available and I am feeling emotionally strong enough.  Physically I am fine...I didn't gain wieght during no. 3 and 4...only for the first 2.

which protocol are you doing?  I have been on both the short and long, but I tend to get better eggs in the short and so we are sticking to the short protocol.  I always get beautiful embryos, around 2-3 but they never seem to stick properly :(

Good luck to you too!

absolutely!  as long as you are having your period... you should be good to go :))
i'm going on my 5th ivf cycle and when i fail a cycle (as neg.. bfn... not m/c) they make me wait for my af to come and for all my hormone levels to come to normal before they start me on another cycle.  my re always starts me on bcp or ocp... so as soon as i get my af i'm on the next pill pack.  if my hormone levels are not back to normal (especially when i m/c) they ask me to wait 1-2 cycles, with close monitoring of my hormone levels, before i start another ivf cycle.
hope this helps.  good luck!
