Hi all, thought I had joined this group, but it appears not!
I'm 45 with 2 grown daughters & TTC had concerns that i was no longer ovulating due to my FSH levels, but it appears that I am according to my U/S, so I am elated with this news, just not sure that i've ovulated this month!

Hi ladies, I just wanted to stop in and say hi and let you know I'm still praying for you.  I love to see those BFPs!
My little one is still with me despite all the bleeding I had early on.
Best wishes to you all!

Hi Susie,

Could you please share your info about using an overseas donor egg? We've been discussing a donor egg as well, but it's crazy expensive. Will you have to fly overseas to do IVF? Any site you can direct me to or other info you could give about this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Breezy

I'd like to join too! I'm 40 and TTC my second (daughter will be 17 years old soon).. DH has no children and would like to have some!! Was on DEPO for 10 years, and afraid it may have impacted my fertility, but we'll see... I'm currently in the 2WW, 3 DPO, and just have to say it is so wonderful to have this place to come for advice, support and encouragement! You ladies are all wonderful!

Hi I'm Phoebe age 41. I want to join in. I'm 11 dpo today and ttc Au Naturale. We had male fertility issues. Hubby has been taking vitamins to better his motility and morphology.

I haven't tested yet. I'm going to test tomorrow. I'm hoping to have a BFP this month. I had what I feel deeply to be implantation bleeding at 9 dpo which was way to early to be having any kind of bleeding for me. Now it's just very light brown to nothing.

Today my gums bled out of no where. I just got out of the shower and hadn't brushed my teeth yet. I felt the nasty taste in my mouth, spit and there it was. Blood. So ladies, I'm hoping for that BFP tomorrow. Sticky vibes to everyone!!

Congratulations to everyone that has gotten the B-BFP (Beautiful Big Fat Positive)

Hi All,

I am officially joining the trying to conceive train this month!  Taking Femara and planning an IUI w/ donor sperm.  Taking charge all by myself in my 40s.

I guess I'm still on the roll call, although I know Savanha is taking a break from the forum.  (I totally understand that!)  So here's my update:

My husband and I are still ttc au naturale, but now making plans for donor egg IVF overseas.  After breaking the piggy bank in 2009 (2 IVF cycles with my eggs, genetic testing, etc.,  cost us almost $50,000) we don't have much money left.  Donor egg overseas is much less expensive, and has a 50% success rate.  And a 10 month wait!
That means we have 10 months to keep trying naturally.  (Keep your fingers crossed.)
It's great to see so many successful pg's on this site.  What an inspiration!

BTW, I buy my maca powder from Iherb.com.  It's not expensive, and takes GREAT in smoothies.  It naturally tastes somewhat malty, so makes my raw milk-spirulina-chlorella-banana smoothie taste great.  I would eat this even if I weren't ttc.  Gives me high energy.

Hi Sherri,

Sorry to hear about your M/C. You guys must be getting really tired, and I'm glad you have an appointment to get some more advice. I've heard that thyroid issues have a great effect on fertility - so you're right, perhaps a bit better balance in that department will make all the difference. At least you still conceive like nobody's business!

Actually - just noticed that today's the 13th - so I hope you appointment went well.

Best wishes,
~Wendy

Turns out this wasn't the month for us. Waiting to miscarry now. Devastated. Feel so empty inside. I think after so many chemical pregnancies (7), we have to start looking at the immunological causes. (I have lupus and autoimmune thyroid disease.) Perhaps when those are better treated, we'll have a better outcome. Seeing my drs on Tuesday 4/13, so hopefully we'll have a plan of how to proceed so we can try again son. Thanks so much for all of your support! It helps immensely!

Thank you Sherri for sharing with us your FSH, I know that one was a tough one.  Gives me hope so much.  I will keep you in my prayers!  I am going to try and find both the maca and Vitex as soon as I get home from my vacation.

You guys are all just the best! I knew that the only place I could find people who truly understand where I'm at is here! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Will post the beta results tomorrow! I'm so nervous but excited! Getting a second beta on Friday so will know whether the levels are doubling!

Definitely hang in there, Pum! I've had to wait a month. I've been told I was post-menopausal. As a matter of fact, I can say this only now, this month's FSH was 57! But we still conceived! I am at the 4 week mark as of Thursday and feeling well so far! So don't take no for an answer from anyone!

Re: the supplements, Vitex I bought at a local vitamin store as a liquid that you mix a few drops (1-2 ml) with water and drink twice a day. Doesn't taste great but it's not terrible. It might come in capsule form, too. Not sure. The maca root, I bought on the internet from a company called Natural Health International or something like that. I bought their "Feminessence MacaHarmony". With shipping it was close to $40.00. But there are several companies that sell it on the net. Maybe other people have recommendations, too. I like this brand because it's not raw maca so I don't get diarrhea like I did with the raw maca capsules. :)

Thanks again, everyone, so much for your support! This is a very happy but nerve-wracking time for me! I hope to be posting soon that I got a true BFP and that it's a viable pregnancy! I feel in my heart like it is, but have to wait and see if the lab tests (beta/progesterone) concur! SSBD to all you awesome ladies!!!

Hi Sherri,
Keep us posted.  I really don't like taking prometrium,  makes me feel horrible, but I know it is good to use when your timing is right!  I am excited for you.

Where do you get the maca and Vitex?  I haven't heard of either of these, but I am open to trying new things.

Hi Pum!

Not much for me to go on this month - not sure we BD'd at the right time, might have been a day early plus a day late. Raging PMS right now (cranky), which I'm taking out by pruning all the shrubs! AF expected next Monday or so. Let's see if she arrives on time! She was a bit of a tease last month - a day late. The nerve.

Sherri:
How exciting. I am so pleased for you and take great hope from you... as I have had to not try this month due to upcoming husteroscopy and I remember you had to have a month off and that was hard. It is hard when you've a history of m/c and we understand but as of right this minute you are pregnant and no-one can take that away.

Alice: It can happen anywhere I'm sure. I hope you are staying strong ('kia kaha' is what we say here).

afm: I seem to have ovulated early this month which means I will be having my period pretty much when I have the hysteroscopy. I sure hope that doesn't mean he won't be able to see what he wants to see. I probably should double check.

Wendy: any early clues for you this month?

Hi Sherri

Sounds like you're right - this time your pregnancy IS different than your last 2 chem. pregnancies. This is really exciting! Crossing my fingers for tomorrow's Beta.

Best wishes,

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for a bit. On vacation w/DH2B in Singapore and Australia. I'm nervous to tell anyone this, because I've had such trouble in the past w/chem preg's. But on 4/1, I did POAS at 11DPO and it was + ! I did it again the next day and got the same result. :-) The lines were not very dark but they were there. We're cautiously optimistic but needing prayers for tomorrow's beta to be HUGE and then the one two days later to be double!

I do feel really pregnant this time. Am constantly hungry and frequently nauseous. I want to celebrate so badly but after chem preg's in Dec, Jan & Feb, feels premature to celebrate. But why this one might be ok is that my progesterone was normal at 7DPO. It was 17.6! For all the chem preg's it was between 4-6. So this one might be different. I'm at 4 weeks now and the others had stopped by 3 weeks.

In case anyone is curious, there was something that I did differently this month. I added maca root and continued Vitex and progesterone supplementation. I know the P wasn't the deciding thing for me. Most likely it was the Vitex and maca. For me, I think the hormone imbalance was partly thyroid related. And from what I've read, maca stimulates your pituitary and thyroid to produce the right amount of hormones. Not sure if my understanding is accurate but I do believe maca (& Vitex) made the difference for me. I am doing Prometrium too, just to make sure my P level stays up, along with extra B6 and selenium.

Alice, I'm so sorry to hear about the mugging! That's just terrible! So frightening! I guess your body will need a little time to recover while the stress of the incident subsides. But I'm sure within a month you'll be back to normal! I'm very glad that you're ok!

Hope everyone is hanging in there! Praying for BFP's for everyone and a BFP beta tomorrow for me! I'm so nervous. I have to admit that I'm worried that my nervousness about everything might even adversely affect the pregnancy. :( I'm trying to stay positive but I know you all understand (especially others who have m/c'd) how hard that is.

SSBD to all!

:) Sherri

Gee whillikers Alice! I hope you can put this behind you. You aren't just another statistic - you're Alice!

I'm with you - give your body a cycle to get past this dumb thing. You'll be good to go again in a month.

Best wishes,
~Wendy
