Help Pleeease.

I'm 15 And Was Involved In An Car Accident In January Which Has Severely Injured Me. I'm Having Difficulty Going Anywhere Near Cars And Find That Because I'm So Un-Mobile Because Of My Injuries. Is There Any Way I Can Get Back To Normal. My Mum Is A Nurse And Has To Take Me to All My Appointments (Unfortunately By Car) She Gets Me To Sit In The Back And She, Like, Ties Thing Round My Eyes And Puts My iPod In My Ears. But I Still Cry And Scream. I Feel Its Affecting Her To. After All She Was In The Accident To But It Wasnt Her Fault. No Other Car Was Involved. Anyway .. I Just Need Help With Feeling Better In Myself.

Hi there the way you are acting is understandable for what you have been threw.
Try and gradually get used to being in the car, even while its stationery it will help, a friend of mine was in a traffic accident with a bus and i remember when i went to see her after she was checked over by the medics she was traumatised. Even though that was several years back i still remember her telling me that she would NEVER get in a car again. Well she gets driven everywhere now, if anything its made her more confident it the car.

Have you thought of getting some professional advice, about car accident etc, like going down to your local police traffic unit and since they are advanced drivers they could tell you the facts etc about crashes. They can also answer any of your questions that you might have for them!

Just take your time getting used to cars is there any other way for you to get to your appointments ? apart from the car.

Also you tried counselling or hypnotherapy ?

Might sound abit dramatic but it might just work for you!

Again hope you feel better
and Take Care

You need psychotherapy to get you over your phobia.   What they might do (but i hope not) is to get you slowly acclimated with cars.   Were you anxious prior to the accident?
