Allie97,
Hi. I'm Angie. I have heard of "dispersonification" from the media. Lots of people must have it. It seems very interesting and I'm sure you cant begin to explain what its like, however if you want to talk ir are just bored, send me a message.
Hello...I'm 45 and years ago I was diagnosed with something almost similar to dis-personification called Dis associative Identity Disorder. It's where your original ego fractures into several different personalities, each personality ot aware that the other exists. It's not schizophrenia where you are totally disconnected from the real world. You are totally connected and aware of reality. This kind of D.I.D comes about during a very traumatic time or event that traumatizes you and causes you to create different personas in order to protect your psyche. This is seen in most patients who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.
How this is similar to Dis Personification is that you feel a little bit disconnected from yourself, like somebody else is controlling your body. When you look in the mirror, you hardly recognize the face staring back at you. You feel like a whole other person altogether and that you are not "you" anymore.
This condition is hardly all that common and usually happens to a person who has been through some stressful events in their life. Perhpas you had something stressful happen to you like maybe a new school, parents getting a divorce, or just the fact of having to deal with events at school can be stressful.
