it's hard but try not to think about it. keep yourself busy with other things...studying, doing schoolwork, sports, friends...anything to keep yourself thinking about something else.

not always. but weight gain can be a side affect of ANY b/c. i've never experienced it while on the pill. in fact i've been back on the pill (ortho tri cyclen) for 3 weeks and have lost some weight. while on mirena i gained 45 lbs. my mom was getting the depo shot and gained 60 lbs in one year, my friend was on the patch and gained 20. i had another friend who did gain weight on her pill. it just depends on your body and how it reacts. that's one thing that the counselors and docs/nurses at planned parent hood will do with you. they'll go over all the b/c options and what is best for YOU. they give you options and you can decide what you would like to do. they'll give you pamphlets and the knowledge to make an educated decision. they also follow up with you. (which they have ways to disguise themselves aka a certain name or something else you'll know but your parents won't)

planned parenthood is great with questions like that. i actually went to one (my insurance lapsed and couldn't afford my usual ob/gyn) when i was having issues with my last b/c i went there (i had the mirena and sadly i was in the 5% it affects BADLY) to get it changed. it didn't cost me anything and i got on new b/c. they are all really nice, respectful and understanding.

go to a clinic. one like planned parenthood can give you a pregnancy test and it can be completely confidential.
