pap smear, do i have to?

im 11 wks pregnant, and i have my doctors appointment this week. the ob nurse told me the doctor was going to do a pap smear on me, the whole procedure scares me, i dont want to have it done, is there anything else the doctor can do, do i have to have a pap smear done?

I had to get one done too. Its not bad at all. It takes like two seconds. Its just like stickin a qtip in ya and takin in back out. You kinda have to get one done, so they can make sure ya dont have any kind of sti's that can effect the baby. It will be just fine :) just relax.

i had 1 done before i was nervous nd anxious jus lak u but it doesnt hurt at all. all they do is put this clear thng into yur openin then swabs yur cervix then yur dne...jus relax

there's nothing really to expect. it's uncomfortable but every internal exam is. it doesn't hurt...it's just a quick swab and that's it.

if you're this scared of a simple pap smear...i'm afraid to know what you think of child birth....

yeah, i know i've read how the procedure is done. but idk i feel nervous, anxious i dont what to expect and what to feel, its the first time this is done to me

you need the pap done. it's not scary. all they do is swab your cervix.
