Tinnitus improved with TMJ treatment?

Hello,

I was diagnosed with TMJD after an excruciating 2 months of looking for an answer to my ear pain, fullness, tinnitus, dizziness (twice), vertigo (once), etc.

I had 2 CT scans, 2 brain MRI's, a few x-rays, a balance test and ecog (for Meniers).

But neither of my two ENT's or 3 Audiologist recommended a TMJ specialist even as I asked if my "fullness in the face" and jaw clicking (w/o pain), the neck pain and the fact that moving my neck increases my ear ringing, was associated to the ear issues.

I went to a TMJ specialist who is a Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is putting me on Occlusal Splints starting Friday after taking several impressions.

My question is: Has anyone with tinnitus due to TMJ actually improved after TMJ treatment?

Thanks,

Yes! me.  I wound up having jaw surgery (btw it didn't fix it) but the TMJ was making my ear messed up. I had horrible dizzy spells and nausea along with the swelling.  I kept going to the ear doctor, I'd get drops Lidocaine to help numb things as the pain was awful and the noise in that ear was terrible. My hearing improved too!  The surgery didn't work out for me, I still have alot of problems. I do cold laser and chiropractic adjustments to the jaw.  They use a little thing like a shot giver.  It doesn't hurt.  But since I started doing that no more tinnitus at all and better hearing.  I actually was getting migraine like headaches from the jaw which resolved too.

What specifically relieved you? The "cold laser" and adjustments?

Who gave you the cold laser "shots"? A Maxillofacial, dentist or chiropractor?

Thanks so much for answering this!!!
