Deformed/Indented testicle?

One of my testicle is pretty noticeably indented, making it bean-shaped.
To clarify, I am not exactly worried about it, since I've been living with it for most likely 6 years now, and there are no usual signs of cancer and all that.

What could be the cause of this, and am I making a mistake for not checking it out with a doctor?
