Sleep Apnea

My husband was diagnosed with sleep apnea in spite of being muscular and trim. He has not been able to adjust to the cpap at all.  Lately he has been exhausted, often headachy, feeling a bit light headed at times and over all unmotivated.  He has been able to keep pushing through at work because he was raised on a farm where work is done regardless of how you feel.  I recently learned that hypothyroidism can cause sleep apnea.  Is this true?  What step would you take next?  Is there another solution for sleep apnea besides cpap?

Would test thyroid - if severely hypo, it may be the cause.  weight loss, cpap, mouthpieces and surgery are the usual treatment options.

I don't know alot about Sleep Apnea, but I know it is not fun.  I do know this, that when you don't get your rest, your body can't heal and regenrate.  Something he could try that is not a RX is magnesium at night and 5-HTP.  They help relax and re-set the seritonin levles.  Do a research on.  Sorry I can't help much with the Sleep Apnea.
