Small Thyroid

Had an ultrasound exam which showed a Very Small thyroid on the right and left.  Reason for this exam was due to feeling like something was in my throat all the time.  When I ly on my left side I can feel it even more and sometimes have trouble breathing.  The result was No nodules, cysts, lesions, and a very small thyroid.  So small that the technician consulted with the physician.  What causes this and what other tests should I ask about for the continued problem?

I had the exact same thing. Check into Myasthenia Gravis. It makes you feel like their is something in your throat when it is just the weakiening of the muscles and it can make it hard to breathe also.

Would look at thyroid function tests -- TSH, free T4, free T3 to ensure normal functioning.  A small gland may be normal for you -- it is unlikely to be causing the symptoms in your neck and it is important to make sure the thyroid functions normally.
