Thyroid Test Questions

After some research I had doctor request Thyroid test as I was feeling like **** and I excercise and take care of myself.  My levels as follows:  t3 2.7, t4 1.0, TSH 2.75.  TSH 2003 3.16 and 2004 3.49.  She put me on low dose Synthyroid 50mcg.  Already in one week I feel better some systoms lessening.  I lift 3 times a week and I noticed after a couple days on meds my energy to lift is way down, like I have never lifted at all.  Any correlation to new med and the body adjusting?

Hello,  I am a 46 year old women and I just found out I have hashimoto's.  My tpo came back at 1000.  Is this high?  Are there things that can trigger the auto-immune disease?  Such as epstien barr, encephalitis, etc,.  Can you have auto-immune for years without knowing it?  I would love to hear from you.

Thanks, Curlygirl

It may be adjusting -- give it at least 6 weeks to balance out, recheck TSH and re-evaluate your symptoms.  With your TSH values, it is unclear if treatment will benefit you but is worth a trial.
