Which Meds Dr. Lupo?

Do you ever prescribe Armour Thyroid? I ask because I am one of the moderators on the Florida Thyroid Groups site, and we have members looking for docs who prescribe Armour.

I was on Armour and tolerated t well. My Dr said it came in the strength I needed. I did have trouble getting it at the pharmacy at first, I guess it  is't in high demand. Unfortunately I had to change Dr's and the first thing the new Dr did was change me back to synthroid. Should I have stayed on the Armour?

Hi,

I take Armour and I really don't feel the difference from synthetic. Some people swear by it. I just think it give you a little high for about an hour and then your back to normal. It's nothing special in my opinion and it smells bad. Also your more prone to not being able to sleep at night.

Not routinely, but I sometimes continue it in patients who come to the office on armour and have normal labs and are tolerating it well.
