parathormone level slightly high and have thyroid nodule

they are monitoring me for a 3.4 thyroid nodule the last two years. i had a normal fna and it has stayed the same size so far. another problem has arisen. my parathromone level is 69. the norm is up to 53. i had a parathyroidectomy in 1991. they removed one parathyroid gland with a 5cc adenoma on it. my calcium level is normal now. i am being referred to my endocronologist for this. what is your thinking on this. has anyone here had this or these issues. thank you.

yes, the endocronologist and my family dr. ordered vit d3 1000 units daily.  my vit d level is 17.,which i started taking. my calcium is normal. i will be visiting my endocronologist in sept for this and primarily for my 3.4 cm thyroid nodule which has stayed the same size as last year. i had a fna it was normal two years ago as well. the endo stated i am cured for primary hyperpth since i had surgery for one gland in 1991 when i spoke to him on phone

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Would check vit D level as if low, this would cause higher PTH.  Would also repeat Ca as normal for adults is usually in the 9's. if >10 w/ high PTH, then concern for recurrent primary hyperPTH.
