Long term low iodine diet

I was diagnosed with papillary cancer on June 4th when undergoing a total thyroidectomy....have been waiting for my RAI ablation treatment since then but Thyrogen is on backorder...my question is whether or not there is any risk to my health from being on this low iodine diet for so long while I wait until the Thyrogen comes in...it has been 6 weeks now, and no idea how much longer.

No, there is no risk as you are on levothyroxine and the primary reason that we need iodine as humans is for thyroid function.
