Tissue Regrowth in thyroid bed

I had my thyroid removed 16 years ago, followed by two RAI treatments. I have been fine since. This week I had an ultrasound which showed bilateral tissue regrowth in the thyroid bed. My endo is sending me for an ultrasound guided biopsy next week to be safe, but he said "it doesn't look like cancer." Has this happened to anybody? My thyroglobulin level is fine and my TSH is suppressed properly. Thank you.
