Dr says I have Thyroid issues and previous Dr does not agree

I am now seeing a new dr because I cannot lose weight, have no energy and only gain weight, and this is the first time after several drs and even my previous, that I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, this new Dr wants me on Armour. He said my other doctors were not looking at the total picture and ordering all the labs needed.
My labs are-
T4- 1.18.
TSH- 3.530
TPO- 69
T3- 2.9
My D is 25.5
A1c 6.2
Insulin 15.6

He says I’m Hypo and pre-diabetic (I one the pre-diabetic) and I need to start Armour and a Med for blood sugars. I asked if I could change my numbers without meds and he says no. I have struggled losing weight and only gain so I tend to believe him more than my previous but I just thought I’d get some more feedback as I hate taking any medicine. Thanks

You will need medication for Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Sometimes just correcting thyroid hormone resolves the blood sugar issues. But if prediabetes is diet related you can reverse this by changing your diet.

In trying to assess a person's thyroid status, the most important consideration should always be symptoms.  So please tell us about any symptoms you have  besides no energy and weight issues.  Next after symptoms comes biochemical test results.  Those results vary from lab to lab, along with reference ranges calculated from patients' data  bases of test results.   So in order to assess your test results please post reference ranges shown on the lab report for those test results.
