How does a hypo thyroid condition affect The inability to sleep?

In the past 6 to 10 years I cannot rely on being able to sleep. And my daily schedule revolves completely around how I’m going to feel if I get any sleep if I don’t get any sleep what appointments to make etc. it gets worse on a daily basis right now I’m on day four and I’ve gotten a total of 6 to 7 hours over the four days   Never schedule anything before 1 o’clock in the afternoon because I tend to if I’m going to sleep it’s usually between 5 AM and 10 or 11. Getting back to the original question there are a lot of unknowns in terms Of my treatment plan for hypo thyroid. I am quickly learning just how much thyroid conditions disrupt so much more physically than I ever imagined

Your question depends a lot on the specifics of your situation, so it is best answered by your doctor.  That said, generally hypothyroidism's impact on sleep is typically from the supplements taken to treat it, usually levothyroxin, which can for some people cause some sleep disrupting issues.  That may or may not be the case with you, but in any event you should look at all the reasons for your insomnia besides your thyroid.  Your sleep schedule, for one, is suspect.  You might benefit from a CBT adult sleep training program, which provides a comprehensive solution for insomnia caused by nonmedical issues, in conjunction with whatever medical treatment you're getting.

I personally have had insomnia from magnesium deficiency (even mildly low will cause sleep issues) and hyperthyroidism. But insomnia is a possible symptom of untreated/undertreated hypothyroidism.

Sleep problems can be associated with a number of different things, including thyroid issues.  Please post results and their reference ranges from any thyroid related tests  done for you so that we can review and comment.  Also, even more important, please tell us about any symptoms you have.
