After affects of RAI being so tired why?

Since I have done the RAI I am getting more tired as the days go by its been 30 days as of today why is that? Then there is the problem with the tenderness in the neck and swollen throat still I am finding certain foods difficult to swallow feels like it is getting stuck in the throat which is becomming a real pain, along with the flavors of the food changes. I am supose to go for my first blood work this week following the RAI so maybe that can tell me something or at least I am hoping. I did call the Dr.'s office but due to the hollidays of course he was out of the office all last week and the staff was of no help since he was out imagine that, so i wasnt having the best of week and since this is all new to me I just feel like a jig saw puzzle that has been throw up in the air and laying on the floor waiting for someone to put me back together, n sometimes I feel like crying  and since i had only seen him one time before he had ordered  this it only makes me wonder. He has family too yes i understand that and he is suppose to be a good Dr. but could the staff not call him on at least 2 days durning the week to ask ?'s then call paitents back with answers or i am asking to much any input would be greatly appreciated.

I had RAI and then keyhole TT due to Atrial Fibrillations and a heart problem.
Sometimes the risk of surgery is too high when Hyper and they do RAI first.

I'm confused as to your whole story.  You sent me a note about having nodules but I didn't see where you had surgery just RAI.  You also said your nodules were cancerous but then only mention RAI.  So I'm not sure how to answer.  Post RAI after TT for cancer should have you starting meds right after RAI, but you don't mention that.  Please feel free to PM me with any questions or just answer here and I'll respond, but right now, I'm at a loss.

And PS, welcome to the forum!

The swollen sore throat is normal after RAI but get your bloods done as I was HYPO, 5 weeks after RAI and put on Thyroxin.
I would say the throat irratation is from the RAI and the thyroid is dumping any excess radiation and Iodine.
Get your bloods done...FT3, FT4 & TSH.
Most Endos make you wait 6 weeks after RAI before bloods.
I have found from experience that it is too long to wait 6 weeks if you are drug sensitive like I am.
I had RAI done 7 months ago.
