Being Inconsistent

Hi all,

I've been really inconsistent with my meds for the last week or so. I was told that Graves' isn't a disease that I can play around with and it can spike at anytime. I was wondering if I can get any tips for staying consistent please.

Thanks in advance

And this is insurance free? Family doctors are similar I believe. All I need is medical records and prescription papers, correct? What should I expect at this point with my thyroid, symptom wise?

Yes, you should be concerned about your lack of medication... If you are in Florida, you can go to your nearest County Health Department and see a doctor there.  You will be charged according to income; if you have no income, the visit should be free.  Levothyroxine is very inexpensive so you should be able to afford to buy it, but it, too may be free of charge.  Don't delay.

Should I be seriously concerned after a month without medication? Sorry I can't answer your question.

I honestly don't know much about hypothyroidism or Hasimoto's but what I have read is that it takes time to find the right balance of medicine from each person since everyone is different. It just takes time

Originally I took 75 mcg. I've never shown signs even before or after I was diagnosed. No weight gain, hair loss, heart issues, liver issues, and what not. I used to have aniexty and was really tired all the time, and depressed tho. Maybe I had mental issues such as scattered thoughts?

Hey. I'm 17 and was diagnosed at14 with hypothyroidism and I was never given any diagnosis like Graves or Hashimotos? Also, I been outta levothyroxine for a month after returning to Florida. Medicaid has taken too long to respond and I'm wondering if I should be. worried? I been consistent everyday for years before this so? I take 50 mcg. They lowered my dose to 50 mcg 3 month's ago. They said my thyroid was suddenly hyperactive after being underactive since I was 14? Could my thyroid be healing?

I am currently on 5mg of methimazole. I am also currently recovering from a 'thyroid storm' episode that I had two years ago, and it sucked Thanks for the advice.

You're right; Graves disease is nothing to play around with... If thyroid hormone levels go too high, you can go into thyroid storm, which is a life threatening condition and requires emergency treatment.

What medication(s) are you on?  We all forget medications, once in a while, but for the most part, you just have to take responsibility for taking your medication.   Most of us carry cell phones, these days, so try setting the alarm on your phone as a reminder.
