No, that's what I'd ask my doctor for.
Also, do you think keeping Synthroid at same dose and adding 2.5 mg cytomel is too much of an increase?
Sorry, this should read:
"Typically, if you convert WELL, FT3 should be higher in its range (as a percent) than FT4 is in its.
It does look like you don't convert well. Typically, if you convert slowly, FT3 should be higher in its range (as a percent) than FT4 is in its. Taking T3 is what helps this. You might ask for a selenium test. The enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of T4 to T3 is a selenium based enzyme. So, low selenium levels can impact that.
The half life of Cytomel is about 2.5 days, so it takes roughly twice that for it to completely leave your system. However, T3 is very fast acting, and it's effect peaks a few hours after taking it. So, you can see results of adding more T3 pretty quickly. However, although T3 doesn't take as long to build in your system as T4 does, there is still a process that has to go on (your body has to heal), and symptoms can linger for a bit once FT3 level is good.
I am thinking of increasing cytomel Currently I'm on 5 mg in am. I am adding 2.5 in afternoon before 3. How long does it take to feel better with an increase like this I think I have a conversion problem. Is there anything that helps with this? Also, how long for cytomel to leave your system?
Your FT4 is smack dab at midpoint! So that looks good.
FT3 isn't as good. It's only 35% of range, and it should be 50+.
How do you feel? If you're still having hypo symptoms, there's plenty of room to increase your Cytomel a little.
Vitamin D still needs some work.
