Body Odor Condition; ENODCRINE SPECIALIST REFERRAL

Hello,
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last year (2014).  I was prescribed medication along with diet change and vitamins/supplements.  I have recently noticed a body odor coming from me.  Even after 2 showers and 2 hair washing people can still smell the odor.  The odor travels so well, that people seem to smell it when Im driving in my car with all the windows rolled up. I know this is rare condition (whatever it may be) and my doctor has referred me to an endocrine specialist. I also have intense stomach pain as well.  I want this doctor to take me seriously.  Can anyone direct me to what questions to ask or the best way to inform this doctor of my body odor issues and concerns?

Thank you. If you have any questions or need further details please let me know.

I use Bioceuticals as it's the only B12 sublingual spray in Australia. O_o lol I take 2000 mcg daily (4 sprays under the tongue). Sublingual method bypasses the gut and goes directly into the blood stream very quickly.  Bioceuticals uses cyanocobalamin form of B12 and this works well for me although this type of B12 doesn't last long in the tissues hence why symptoms show up quickly if I don't take enough.

Cyanocobalamin shouldn't be used if you smoke or have liver issues. Methylcobalamin is retained longer in the tissues as well so if you can find methylcobalamin sublingual spray give that a try.

Hello Red_Star

Thank you for the information.  Yes my B12 levels were low, along with my potassium and vitamin D.  I have been taken these (b12, d and a multi) vitamins for over a year now.  The odor is still prevelant and im so depressed about it.  Thank you for your support.

P.S. What kind of b12 spray do you find works the best?

I had an unpleasant body odor from vitamin B12 deficiency. In fact if I don't take enough B12 sublingual spray this symptom comes back very quickly. Vitamin B12 is one of the possible deficiency states seen with hypothyroidism (due to low stomach acid). Just one possible reason anyway for body odor that you can't wash away.
