Brown sugar and LID?

Does anyone know if brown sugar is a no no on LID?  I keep mine in a container, so I asked a girlfriend to look at her label.  No kidding, it said 100% sugar.  Then she had a dark brown C&H one which says: "good cooks know that many brands of brown sugar aren't naturally brown at all, rather they are white sugar sprayed with a coating of molasses. C&H dark brown sugar is authentic; 100% pure cane sugar that's naturally brown" - so I would take that to mean that C&H does not have molasses.  The one I have is light brown, but C&H.
Also, the Thyroid Cancer Survivors cookbook has two recipes (at least) that call for brown sugar...
Can anyone help with this one?

When I brought an off brand brown sugar, I always thought it didn't have the same taste as C&H but then I thought it was just me.
You have answered a question I had asked for years. thanks

when in doubt don't eat it.  I just went through 21 days on the low iodine and believe me I had one item that I questioned which was a natual juice. (it was not and had red # in it) Because of that I believe I had a false positive scan and had to do another the next day, which came back fine.  Leason be learned as it scarred the poop right out of me...
