TSH is a pituitary hormone, not a thyroid hormone; you need to get tested for Free T4 and Free T3, not just TSH. If you were tested for those, please post their results so we can see what your actual levels were. Be sure to post reference ranges, along with the results since ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report. If you haven't had Free T4 and Free T3 tested, you should insist that your doctor order them so you can get the full picture of what's going on with your thyroid.
You should also ask for thyroid antibodies to determine if you have an autoimmune thyroid issue. Although Graves Disease is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism, many people have periods of hyperthyroidism in early stages of Hashimoto's, as well.
Antibody tests you need to determine if you have Hashimoto's are Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb). The definitive test for Graves Disease is Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI)...
Family history and hyper symptoms. Sounds very suspect. I've been hyper many times and labs do not always reflect this depending on what is going on. I was very hyperthyroid for two months due to Hashitoxicosis (Graves antibodies also showed up...I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis) and my labs showed subclinical hypothyroidism with a TSH of 6. My thyroglobulin serum was high due to being hyperthyroid.
My pulse pressure is high with hyperthyroidism. Pulse pressure is the difference between the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Normally around 30 to 40. Eg: 120/80 (120 - 80 = 40).
