under controlable thyroid level

I found out around the begining of this i had hashimoto's thyroiditis i was on a low dose i was doing fine until the ultrasound showed a 5mm cyst in my left lobe that got biospy but it was not cancer thats all i was told.About two and half months ago after the results of the biospy i was up dose to 50mg and all of sudden my thyroid went hay wire,i gotten tremors, my thyroid levels won't stay leveled out, can't stop being irritable, i gotten next pain but now it went to my throat and right ear mostly The thyroid doctor to tried to do high dose one day next low dose but that made things harder to deal with so i am back on 50mg,he has said it thyroiditis or flares of it,says my neck pain is possible something is bleeding into my cyst.

Test that i have gotten done were a ct scan:nothing showed up it was done in july

i was in the er last month of chest pain,i keep getting sick for unknown reasons and my TSH was 12.100 my thyroid doctor did not do anything i would expect more out so called experts doctors in tampa

The thyroid doctor did check my thyroid antbodies but they were normal

and if there was a possiblity that i had it at birth and now that i am now drugs it's not use too a big change
i was a late baby stay in the hospital for jaudice and grew up seprating anexity on top depression.and i am only 19

Find another doctor.
Get a copy of your tests as well - all of the reports and the blood tests. TSH is not a good enough test on its own - it is a pituitary test. If it is high, then he should test the pituitary. It may just be the thyroid but then he has to do a better job of testing the thyroid - and a CT is not the way.

50mg is rather a low dose. Have you had an ultrasound or iodine testing?

Always make sure copies of your lab tests; that way if you have to go to a different doctor, you won't have to have one doctor send them to another; just provide them from you files.  Works much better that way.

When getting T4 and T3 tested, always make sure you insist on the "frees".  What are the reference ranges for the tests you had done?

It would be more useful to have all the tests over all the months to show the changes (and when you were on meds)
As well ranges on each test are needed as every lab differs. TSH is supposed to be standard but some labs have not adopted the .3-3.0 standard.

It is good at least he did T3, T4 but the "free" tests are better as in Free T3, free T4. He did a free T4 index which is a FTI - "The FTI is obtained by multiplying the (Total T4) times (T3 Uptake) to obtain an index." I honestly have never had a doctor run this test. I have no idea how good it is.  The body uses T3.

You need to have your actual thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4 tested.  Those are the results that will tell what your thyroid is actually doing.

What antibody tests have  you had done?

Don't accept a diagnosis that all is "normal" -- insist on a copy of your lab report so you can actually see what the results and reference ranges are.

It's very possible to have lab results in the "normal" range, but your levels are too low in the range, it might not be good enough for you.
