Elevated TPOab..how high is HIGH?
My thyroid has gotten larger within the past few months, and my doc hasn't done anything. My tsh and t4 are pretty normal(TSH-3.08&3.44, T4-.56&.71), but my thyroglobulin is 27 (under 20 is norm) and my TgAb QN is 93.4 (normal is betweenm 2-35), also my TPOAb is 317 (normal is below 35). I never had these problems prior to my pregnancy. I have a lot of the 'classic' symptoms of hypothyroidism. Dry skin, irregular meneses, fatigue, etc.... I guess my question is: is my TPOAb something I should be worried about? I know 317 is high, but how high is that considered? Why didn't my doctor ever even mention these levels to me (they were taken in February, and I just found out by getting copies of all my labs)? I have an appt/ (FINALLY) with the endocrinologist, but it's not until 31JUL. Should I be stressed or am I over-reacting?

With all due respect regarding this topic in the states "hipo" is short for Hippopotamus. AND ironically many (or me) for that matter associate with the amount of weight I gained since HypOthyroid. So the language of HIPO could be some what depressing to a HYPOthyroid patient. Geez - now I am thinking about my weight again. Oy Vey.....
No one judges another spelling or grammer here (god knows if they did I would have been kicked off a long time ago) :) my spelling is baaaaaaaaaaadddddd since the thyroid disease kicked in.
As for the new member asking the delicate question - you got very good advice and as you can see - we sometimes find out how big our community really is at times.
If you have any other questions on your post or anything else - please post away - we are all here to share our experiences and Mr. AR is a wizard/guru at blood labs !! I keep telling him that this is his calling - but he ignores me! :)

AR-10, I'm not english , not American, I'm from a latin country, I'm Portuguese. In Portuguese, we say hipotiroidismo.
I forgot to finish. I'm not pregnant now, I had my son in Dec of 06...I never seemed to have any problems before I got pregnant. It just seems that close to a year after my son was born, I started having the 'issues' with my thyroid. Thank you for your comments. I'll def. have a long talk with my endocrinologist. (When I finally get to see him)

It's high enough to be of concern, and it is certainly high enough for your doctor to mention it.
"Oh, by the way, you have an autoimmune thyroid disease."
Yeah, it's worth mentioning to the patient.
Don't stress out, because you can't do much about it and worrying won't help. It does sound like you will be having a long talk with the Endo about autoimmune disease.
But let me give you a tip. Some Endo's are less qualified to treat a thyroid condition than your GP. Just because their nametag says "Endo" on it doesn't mean they are an expert.
You need to read up on hypothyroidism and autoimmune thyroid disease and get your own medical diploma, because it is a jungle out there. Lions, and Tigers, and doctors that don't think discussing your tests with you is important.
And estrelinha, you're a sweety, but it's hypo, not hipo. And hyper, not hiper. Not trying to be rude, but hipo just bugs me.

Means autoimune disease of your thyroid, probably HASHIMOTO, you need to be supervised by a ENDO, specially because your pregnant (your not HIPO but with pregnancy could become HIPO). My TPO are higher then 1000, and my TSH is 2.9, no medication yet by the ENDO.
