Enlarged thyroid gland

I had thyroiditis after having my child almost 4 years ago. I have goiters on both sides..I did the the iodine radiation to kil the thyroid. My Tsh and T4 levels are most of the time in the normal range. I take 200 mcg of synthroid daily, However my blood work done this week said my tsh level was 12.4 and my T4 was 0.78. Before My thyroid was enlarged r lobe 6.4 by 2.7, l 6.5,x 2.4. Isthmus was 1.3 cm thick. So today i go to have my us redone since it has been 4 years and the tech told me that most people who do iodine radiation usually u cant even visualize the thyroid cause it is so small, however mine was super large and she told me that my isthmus was 2x as thick as it should be... They sent the results to a surgeon to read but wont no the results for awhile.. Any Ideas

Your right it doesn't make sense....unless part of the thyroid has regained its function? Is this possible?
What kind of dr are you seeing for your thyroid??
See if you can pull records of your uptake scan back then....unless maybe you have a copy? Just maybe there was a mistake somewhere.....

I had an uptake scan right after and it came back with no activity. So why now would it be growing like crazy.

Did you have any uptake scans done to see if your thyroid had indeed been killed off?
