For Dr. Lupo

I had an ablation on my thyroid 4 1/2  years ago and since then have never been able to get regulated.  I do not see a specialist and think I should but the Dr. never suggests it and he has one in his office.  Recently after receiving a shingle vaccine I had a huge reaction the size of a fist with a lot of fever and headache.  I went to show them but had to see the Dr. who was a phy. assistant on call.  She kept talking about sinus and arthritis and ended up giving me a 40 suspension of Kenelog.  I told her I was not to have this because of a positive tuberculin test.  She said, Oh it will not hurt you.  All at once my hair is coming out again and I feel terrible.  I called my doctor really upset and he was not much solace for what was done was done.  I finally demanded my thyroid be checked again even though it had been only 5 weeks and he had just dropped me to 90 Armour Thyroid because I stay hyper.  They called and said the test was now 3.97 and it had been .18 and he doubled my armour thyroid to 180.  If I was hyper on 120 and he dropped me to 90 I just can not understand the 180 for when I take it my hands and arms tingle and feel hot and I feel strange.  I will say it lets up somewhat after about 2 hours but I fear I am headed for bigger problems.  Can you help me.

I know you were trying to reach Dr. Lupo but you posted on the patient-to-patient forum.

You REALLY need to get a good endocrinologist to take your case.  Was your ablation for thyroid cancer or hyper/Graves?  Either way, you need to be closely monitored.  If your hands and arms are tingling and you feel hot and "strange" you really need to seek competent medical advise, quickly.  If you get chest pains and heart palpitations, please get to an emergency room.
