Former Hyperthyroidism, still lots of symptoms?

Hi everyone!

I'm hoping someone can relate or help me, give me advice on how to deal with some of the things I'm dealing with on a daily basis.  I had my complete thyroid removed 11 years ago, at age 15, due to a goiter that was noncancerous, but causing hyperthyroidism.  At that time, I weighed 120 lbs and was 5'10", so it was pretty obvious, I took in some days over 5,000 calories and was still losing weight.

My Synthroid now has been regulated for YEARS, it is perfectly at 1.01 as of a couple months ago, but I'm still extremely anxious 90% of the time, I have headaches almost daily, excessive urination, low blood sugar, and excessive hunger.  I eat fast food every day because it's the least expensive and heaviest option.  My blood sugar is still 70 sometimes after I eat and my blood pressure is still so low.  Is this a disorder on its own or something?

I have tried the Paleo diet and it helped slightly.  I have gained weight to 165 lbs now, so I'm not starving but when I'm hungry I just suddenly feel like I absolutely need to shove food in my mouth.  It's a huge inconvenience working full time because sometimes the 15-20 minutes it takes to get to a granola bar, I almost pass out.  I also sometimes feel the need to wake up around 3-4am and eat.

Has anyone had these symptoms?  Is this all related to just generalized anxiety maybe or do I have a deeper issue?  I've been to so many doctors...they don't seem to have ANY answers for me.  Feels like I'm dying at times.

Depends if they even tested those labs. If not then I would recommend testing both. I'd also recommend asking for copies of your labs. Do you have Hashimoto's thyroiditis?

Hi Red_Star,
Idk what my T3 or T4 levels are, I guess I've never asked.  Would they still have that info on file from my last blood draw?  Maybe I'll call them tomorrow...

What is your free T4 and free T3 levels?  Food is expensive for sure.  I was going to buy some oranges and have some freshly squeeze orange juice but they are $2 an orange right now. *sigh*
