I had the iodine to destroy the thyroid 6 weeks ago. I feel worse and the skin around my eyes are swelling. I went to the Dr. and he said " its just your body dealing with the dead tissue from the thyroid and I just have to go through it".

They took my levels yesterday, but do not have me on any replacement thyroid meds until my levels come back.
Yes, it can be usual to feel worse while your body goes through it. ARe they testing your thyroid levels yet? Have you started on replacement thyroid meds yet?
