Your doctor is testing total T3 and total T4.  These are considered obsolete tests.  FREE T3 and FREE T4 are much more accurate and useful.

Your total T4 looks pretty good.  It's just above midrange.  Total T3 is a bit low, but not much of a concern since you aren't on any thyroid meds.  However, your TSH is 6.22, which tells us that your pituitary wants more thyroid hormone.

Thyroid meds do not cause weight gain.  Hypo causes weight gain.  If meds are not adjusted properly, people often continue to gain weight or find it difficult to lose weight.  It looks like it's the meds causing it, but it's really that they are undermedicated and still hypo.

You could ask your doctor for a trial dose to see if it clears up your symptoms and you feel better.

hi sir,
thank you everyone fro your support and answers.these are my tests results.

total t3        120      60-200 ng/dl
total t4         8.6       4.5-12.0
tsh              6.22      0.30-5.5
method was C.L.I.A
As far as the symptoms go i do suffer from hairfall and brittle nails which i thought was due to dandruff.please suggest what should i do next because i have read that thyroid medicines lead to weight gain so i am little hesitated to go for treatment.

thanking you in anticipation

Please post the reference ranges on your T3 and T4 tests.  Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.  Also, are those total T3 and total T4 or FREE T3 and FREE T4?  If FREE or FT3 and FT4 are not specified, they are total.

Have you googled a list of hypo symptoms to make sure you don't have them?

TSH is a scrrening test at best.  It's a very indirect way to measure thyroid function.  FT3 and FT4 are the direct measurements.  And, of course, symptoms are most important of all.

Could you re-post those labs agian with the reference ranges provided for each, ranges very from lab to lab, just looking at levels alone sometimes do not tell the whole story. Thank You FTB4

You tsh is high, t3 is normal t4 is normal this would suggest mild hypothyroidism. After the first test is something is off they may do a thyroid scan, what that will do is show them the thyrod and they will go from there. It's really simple you go and take a pill and the next day you get the scan.
