Hashi antibody level post TT

I had a total thyroidectomy (papillary cancer) in July of this year (2010) and just had bloodword this week that is saying my antibodies are 17,200 and they should be under 20 to be normal.  Endo did not seem concerned and said they would get lower and lower with time as my body keeps adjusting to being without the gland.

Any other hashi's out there with any food for thought on that?

That's alarming...

are you suffering any symptoms?

What dosage of thyroid meds are you taking?

What other thyroid labs have you had recently? - Can you post them?

Oh and she said that my body probably is not making the T4 into the T3 like it should and that is why I am suffering these symptoms.

Here are my labs I just got this week and this is 12 weeks post of the TT.

Thyroglobulin Antibodies   My result:   1719     Normal:   <20
T4, FREE    My result:  1.3      Normal:  0.8-1.8
TSH, 3rdGenerations   My result:  1.04    Normal:  0.4 - 4.5

I have been on .150 micrograms of Synthroid since before the surgery and they kept me on that after the surgery.  That is all I have been taking.  Yesterday she added .5 of Cytomel because I have been tired, brain fogs, joint pain in my hips and very weepy ever since the surgery.  She wanted to keep my synthroid where it was because she said that range was actually good.  She wanted to add the Cytomel to help with the Quality of life.  They did not test my T3 (which I don't get) in this last bloodwork.  She does have T3 on the next bloodwork.

This is the first time I have seen this endo and I really liked her.  Finally, an endo I have liked.  I don't want to blame her for the past doctor and she seemed to really listen and care.  I didn't understand why I wasn't on cytomel after the surgery but regardless, I am now.  So, I just started adding the cytomel to my synthroid this AM.

She said the antibodies are from my Hashis and are still really high and they should drop over time?  Is that not normal?  I have no previous antibody test to compare it with to see if they maybe have really dropped.  My gland was totally destroyed by the hashi's...bad texture, shape, enlarged.  My isthmus was the size of an enlarged gland, surgeon said she never saw anything like it.  The endo said that was all probably from the Hashi's attacking it over the years.

Anyway, I'd love your insight.  Thanks so much!!!!
