cytomel craving

I have been on 37.5mcg of Synthroid and 5 mcg of Cytomel  , I was on Armour before reformulation and felt terrific for the 17 yrs  I was on it. I have been on this Cytomel & Synthroid    combo for 4 yrs and I have notice I feel like I am craving the cytomel  .  I have been trying to get back on Armour but the Cytome is playing on my head.  and I can't seem to get myself to change.. Anybody else feel this way??

Some people really feel or notice a "rush" relatively soon after taking T3 (Cytomel).  This is because this hormone is available for use immediately.  So in a way people can have the same type of reaction as "speed".  And I suppose a person could get accustomed to that "rush".

Armour has a lot of T3 in it as well compared to the human thyroid.  Maybe because of the fillers and what not in the manufacture of Armour it could cause a slower absorption rate.  So you didn't get this same "rush" that you may be "craving".

You have to ask yourself what your final result you're looking for.  Do you want to feel well physically, which is the blood labs and lack of symptoms of being either hypo nor hyper.  Or are you looking for the "rush"?

Not sure if this is the case or not. I'm just saying it could be a possibility.

I also wonder if it is possible that this "rush" is not a sign of you being over medicated and the initial signs of being on the edge of going hyper.

Do you take the cytomel on a single dose or do you take it in two separate doses during the day?

Because T3 is available and used within HOURS.  Many people really find the need to split the dose into two a day instead of getting a full blast all in one dose.

As always, discuss this and what you are feeling and your symptoms with your Dr.

Please post the results of any recent thyroid tests (Free T3, Free T4, etc) and their reference ranges. What is your current dose of synthroid & cytomel?
